About the Machines.
The method created by Joseph Pilates uses several machines ( Reformer, Wunda Chair, Cadillac, High Chair, Barrels, Mat, Baby chair ) to create a resistance to the body, so that it will work to benefit specific muscles areas.
To some, the Pilates system equipment might look like a torture device. It consists of what looks like a single bed frame, with a sliding carriage and adjustable springs to regulate tension and resistance. Cables, bars, straps and pulleys allow exercises to be done from a variety of positions, even standing. Although those machines can be impressive, the work performed with the springs and the various devices are amazing.
Maricha Dumont is coming from the most traditional Pilates School (Romana Kryzanowska School), founded by one of the first and most accurate student of Joseph Pilates himself.
Joseph Pilates invented more than 500 exercises performed on the entire system, with countless variations depending on individual needs. Added resistance exercises in conjunction with the Joseph Pilates machines challenges the strength and endurance of the student and may also produce visible results faster.
Because of her knowledge of the Body, Maricha is teaching according to Joseph Pilates teachings but can add to the traditional sequence other exercices according to each person needs.

The machine work is also very effective when done in parallel with rehabilitation work following surgery. For example, after childbirth or to work on a particular disease, or pathology.
A class lasts 55 minutes and can be a private lesson or a duo if you’d like to share the benefits and the experience of this beautiful practice with somebody. During the private lessons, mat work can also be introduce
